1,000,000 square feet of open warehouse space and
has over 3.3 miles of line of site RF range in an open area! The units are less than 10 ounces with the integrated bar code scanner, and have a long life, rechargeable Li-ion battery for extended use.
Simple Operation
Each scan, and each time you
press the Enter key, data is transmitted to the host.
The host software sends prompts back to the display, and can
even trigger voice message broadcasts at the same time.
Commitment To Quality
The Worth Data RF Terminals, and Base Stations, are proudly Made in the USA of U.S. and imported parts right in our California facility. Since we do all of our own engineering, software development, product design, testing, and assembly we can control every aspect of the quality and features, providing you with a finished product that is simply the best available.
Rugged Design Features
Our RF Terminals are designed for rugged environments and can hold up in industrial applications. All units come with a die cast aluminum top cover on the units which vastly improves the ruggedness of the units. The rest of the housing and handle is mode from very tough glass filled nylon to be more rugged. Our tests show no damage after multiple 5 foot drops to concrete. We also offer a optional Silicone Boot, or a Leather case to further protect the units from larger drops. The units use very rugged Type C USB ports for charging & firmware updates. The antenna is now more rugged and easily replaceable in the field.
Improved Ergonomics
The 7000 Series Terminal has also been designed with the ergonomics of the user in mind. It comes with a large high visibility 15 Line TFT Color QVGA LCD Display, plus the keypad layout has been designed to make scanning and keying easier. The small size and weight of the unit, along with the comfortable curved shape, make it very easy to hold and scan for long periods of time.
Our ergonomic handle is standard on all units now, whether you purchase the LT7150H or the LT7250H models. The ergonomic handle makes scanning much easier for long term all day use.
RF Compatibility
All of the 7000 Series Terminals use the same radio 900Mhz for the USA and Canada, so even if you have an older 7000 RF Terminal setup you can add these newer LT7x50H units to your system without any hardware or software changes.
They work seamlessly with the B5001, B5011 or B5021 Base Stations -- as well as the older 7000 Series RF Terminals with the 30pin I/O connector like the LT7101H units, or the more recent units with 2 micro USB ports like the LT7111H, LT7112H & LT7202H units.
Bar Code Scanning Options
Terminals come with your choice of a 1D high speed laser scanner, for standard 1D bar codes on the LT7150H, or a powerful 2D imaging scanner with an industry leading high speed engine that scans both 1D and 2D bar codes on the LT7250H model.
1D Bar Code Scanning
The LT7150H units come with a 1D bar code laser scanner built into the top of the unit. When you press the scan button, or the trigger on the handle, a laser beam scans at 100 times per second to pick up even poorly printed or damaged bar codes easily. The unit can also scan very high density codes with narrow bars as small as 2.5mil .0025" (0.064mm) - equivalent to 23cpi Code 39!
Bar code types supported include UPC/EAN, UCC-EAN-128, Code 39, Full ASCII Code 39, Code 128, GS1-128, ITF-14, GTIN, Codabar, MSI Plessey, GS1 DataBar (RSS-14) omni and stacked variants, ITF Interleaved 2 of 5, Standard 2 of 5, Bookland EAN, Code 11, LabelCode4, LabelCode5, Storage Tek, and Code 93. The reader auto discriminates automatically.
Below is the typical decode range, for scanning bar codes, on the LT7150H RF Terminals.
A 6 mil barcode is considered high density, the 10mil and 14mil are typical general purpose medium density, and the 40 mil and 100 mil are large low density codes.
2D Bar Code Scanning
The LT7250H models come with a industry leading omni-directional 2D imaging barcode scan engine. When you press the scan button, or the trigger on the handle, the high speed imaging engine scans 2D matrix barcodes, or standard 1D bar codes, instantly. The scan engine is also omni-directional, so you don't have to have the bar code lined up to scan it.
It instantly reads all popular 2D matrix type bar codes such as QR Code, DataMatrix, PDF417, MicroPDF417, MaxiCode, GS1-DataMatrix, Composite Codes, Aztec, MicroQR Code, as well as USPS Intelligent Mail Bar Codes, US Postnet, US Planet, UK Postal, Japan Postal, Australian Postal, and Dutch Postal, along with many others. The 2D bar code can have up to 1024 characters encoded in the code.
In addition, it also reads standard 1D barcodes including; UPC/EAN, UCC-EAN 128, Code 39, Full ASCII Code 39, TriOptic Code 39, Code 32, Code 128, Codabar, MSI, Code 11, GS1 DataBar, Composite, ITF Interleaved 2 of 5, DTF Discrete 2 of 5, Bookland EAN, Code 93 and many others. The scan engine optics will scan very high density codes with narrow bars as small as 2.5mil .0025" (0.064mm) - equivalent to 23cpi Code 39!

Base Station Connection Options
B5011 USB & Serial Base Station
The B5011 Base Stations are available with multiple connection options - USB COM port connection, or a serial interface connecting to a DB9 or DB25 COM Port.
B5021V Ethernet Base & B5021R Ethernet Relay Stations
The B5021V Base Station offers an Ethernet Connection for users who want to forgo connecting directly to a Host computer and would prefer to attach to an Ethernet connection. The Ethernet Base Stations can be located on a local network or even on a remote network - anywhere there is a CAT5/6 internet/network connection.
The B5021R Ethernet Relay Station can be operate as an Ethernet TCP/IP Relay Station giving the user the ultimate flexibility in locating and communicating with terminals - now you can use our RF Terminals in multiple locations simultaneously with your main location and existing software. Imagine the power of using the RF Terminals in real time anywhere in the world, just across town, or even in the next building; anywhere that has an Ethernet internet connection available can be setup as a Relay Point and talk to our RF Terminals with no software upgrade or modifications.
You can connect up to 16 Ethernet Relays in any combination of local LAN and/or remote LAN(s). The Ethernet Base needs to be connected to the computer running the host application by either serial or USB but the Ethernet Relays are all connected by Ethernet. This is vital for companies with multiple buildings, separate locations and sites that need transactions to be recorded and event driven tasks beyond the reach of a more traditional dedicated wired system.
Base Station Backward Compatibility
For users who have
software written for the older Worth Data 70 or 700 Series RF Terminals,
the B5011 & B5021R Base Stations maintain the same serial interface, so they will continue to work with your existing software without any changes. New programming will be required to support the 15 Line LCD if your software doesn't already support it.
Easy
to Implement
There is no programming
on the terminal. All programming is on the host computer
in the programming language of your choice. Your only requirement
is to send commands out to the associated COM port on your computer -- either Serial or USB on the B5011 or B5021R Base Stations -- or via TCP/IP to the B5021V Ethernet Base Station.
Any platform and any language can literally make
the terminal sing. Whether you write simple serial command strings or you use our supplied .NET or Active
X components, we make it easy for you.
There's only one program to write and maintain.
No development package is necessary to buy. All you need is supplied with the purchase of a RF Terminal and Base Station. It's the perfect product for developers who wish to distribute systems to remote locations.
Controlling & Programming the RF Terminal
A user program does not run on the RF Terminal. Prompts & Commands are sent to through the Base Station to the RF Terminals. There are three levels of host computer programming support provided for the RF Terminal:
Low Level Programming strings sent to the serial COM port, or USB COM port, is the most basic method of programming which applies to any language and any platform that can read and write to a serial port. For Windows users there is a free DLL provided to simplify the serial commands, and we also provide the USB driver to talk to the B5011 base station when it is attached via USB. Click here for details on our simple Low Level Programming.
.NET support is also provided which provides the overall structure and all routines which, when completed, result in a running application. It is a .NET assembly that is compatible with Visual Studio and any .NET language including Visual Basic, Visual C++®, C#, etc... Click here to download the .NET installation package.
Again, there is no programming necessary on the RF Terminal itself. All programming is on the host computer and can be in Visual Basic, Access, C, Basic, etc. Any platform and any language that can read/write to a serial port can be used.
Additional Features & Options
Protection Options
We have an optional leather carry case - Model F42 - that offers additional protection for your RF Terminal. The case has a clear cover over the keypad area, is padded, and has a shoulder strap. The F42 case is on the left.
We also offer a Silicone Boot - Model SIL-BOOT - the boot has thick corners, and additional pocketed areas, to provide cushioning and protection from drops and hits. This will help protect your RF Terminals from accidental damage. You can not use the SIL-BOOT and the F42 Leather case together.
Special Data Encryption
While it is unlikely that anyone would have the ability to monitor the RF data you are transmitting, if you do need more extensive security of your data the 7000 RF Terminal system offers optional encryption of the RF data traffic between the Base Station and the terminals. We use a proprietary 32-bit passcode encryption method to encrypt all of the data that is transferred over the RF spectrum. You choose the passcode and enter it into both the base station and each terminal to complete this security setup.
Handle with Internal Li-ion Rechargeable Battery
We use a single 5000mAh Li-ion battery built right into the replaceable HXX50 handle on the unit. In the event of failure this complete handle, with the battery, is field replaceable via 2 screws.
With our advanced battery charging you can have a full charge in 4-6 hours or less! Intelligent charging replenishes only the power used - no need to fully discharge battery or wait through a full charging cycle for partially used batteries!
Battery charging is done using the F17 USB wall power supply pictured on the left. We also use rugged USB C ports on the RF Terminals which are the industry standard for most portable devices for charging. We include a F17 USB Power supply and a C26 USB C cable with each RF Terminal ordered. If you want to charge with a non Worth Data power supply you will need at least a power supply that provides 10w of power -- it will not charge connected to a computer port.
KwikCount/RF for ExcelMobile Portable Printer Support
The LT7150H & LT7250H RF Terminals are capable of talking to portable wireless printers, including the popular Zebra® QLn & ZQ series of mobile portable printers and the TSC Alpha-30 printers -- allowing you to easily print product/price labels, barcode labels, receipts or other tags. Communication and printing to other brands of mobile printers, that are equipped with standard wireless BT technology, is very easy using the special menus built into our RF Terminals.
Voice Messages
In addition to the display
prompts and error messages, the RF Terminal has the
ability to audibly prompt and advise the operator
with pre-recorded prompts and error advisories triggered
by the host program. Voice messages are particularly
helpful in poorly lit areas, cold environments, non-English
speaking cultures, and keyless applications (faster
scanning without having to refer to the display).
Industry Leading RF Range
Our 900MHz 7000 Series RF Terminals use a very powerful spread spectrum radio that can easily cover many thousands of square feet with a single base station. Plus, you can expand the coverage even further using Relay Stations - in an open area our RF range is over 3 miles! Our radio has 25 times the range of the very best Wi-Fi radios. It is very common for a customer to install just one B5011 or B5021 Base Station in a corner of a large warehouse and still get complete coverage in the entire building.
802.11 Wi-Fi vs. 7000 Series RF Terminals
802.11 Wi-Fi is a spread spectrum radio format that operates in the 2.4GHz, 5GHz & 6GHz RF bands and is very popular around the world. However, Wi-Fi only has around 100-300 foot range in most applications and requires extensive site surveys, plus special wiring and locating of the access points to correctly cover any large area or building. 5GHz & 6Ghz Wi-Fi range is even shorter - at only around 50 feet - despite being very fast and handling lots of data the newer Wi-Fi bands do not have long range coverage!
Extending Range with Relay Station
The B5011 Base Station can be converted to operate as a relay with a simple jumper change. Relay Stations give
even greater coverage and can overcome steel structured
wall limitations of separate rooms, buildings or to extend range in very large buildings. Relays are connected
by 422 cable to the B5011 Base Station.
